About Contemporary Library Consultants

Ginny Brodeen
Contemporary Library Consultants was founded by Ginny Brodeen. Ginny worked for the St. Paul Public Library for more than eighteen years as an Outreach Services librarian. She continues this important library advocacy work as a private consultant.
She has worked in all facets of public librarianship including branch management. Ginny has substantial experience in the planning and design of library facilities. She wants to help libraries achieve their changing goals with her expert guidance in planning and program development.
She pursues new and innovative projects, that will work for library staff and users, centered on the power of information to change people's lives and communities. Her passionate commitment to connecting people with libraries and equalizing access to information has led her to manage many other projects involving early literacy, teen and adult learners, and new immigrants.
Ginny pioneered the very successful 'Homework Center Project' in St. Paul, which has served more than 80,000 student visits. This is a testament to her dedication to helping people achieve their academic and life goals through innovative uses of information science resources and public access.
Ginny is well known in the library field for dedicated service to library users, the ability to reach out to underserved communities and the creativity to uncover innovative paths to deliver needed resources. Because of her strong commitment to promoting library services, she has been an active member and contributor at the tables of many community organizations, partnerships and collaborations. She is a requested speaker at professional meetings and conferences and has published a professional article as a co-author.
Ginny was the project manager for the innovative and successful statewide legacy library project in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society.
